The Jazzcracker
Synposis
Claire, 14 years old and missing her dad, dreads the Christmas Eve party that mom is foisting on her and her little brother. Seriously disliking mom's weird street-performing boyfriend and his geeky son, Claire resists all friendly overtures by them and really loses it when Guy actually proposes to her mom in front of everybody. After the party, Claire quietly puts on her new CD of the Bandage Boys (a gift from Guy) and falls asleep. That's when craziness begins! Dreaming that the Christmas tree and the computer screen grow to impossible heights, the Bandage Boys are suddenly IN her livingroom having been chased out of the computer by the Rat Pack. A vicious battle ensues and Claire kills the King Rat! She then joins the Bandage Boys in their computer world to help them fix the malfunction between Processor and Arlisoft. These two must work together as a heart and a soul, and the wall growing between them is causing big problems. Claire musters her resources joining the“Bits”, the “Bytes” and “ZZZ” to battle the virus that only she can obliterate. But what can she do when the Rats reappear and the cheese bomb explodes? Will the computer blowup? Will Claire get out alive?

The Professional World Premiere Lights Up YOUR Stage!
The quintessential Christmas musical, The Jazzcracker premieres at YOUR THEATRE, (DATES AND TIMES). “The Jazzcracker is inspired by and parallels the story of The Nutcracker while spinning off with a modern-day, funky twist!” comments YOUR Artistic Director of YOUR Theatre.
Ron Schuster, co-writer of the book, says that the three creators “set out to explore the themes of understanding and accepting others who are different from ourselves, and letting go of one's past troubles and moving on with life — accepting change as a part of growth”. The Jazzcracker celebrates Claire's journey through past angst to present acceptance.
And then there's the MUSIC! “People are assuming that The Jazzcracker will be a jazzed up version of Tchaikovsky's music —NOT TRUE! Bank’s music is original, all of it, and I should know, I wrote it!” says Tommy Banks settling the score. And what glorious music it is too. With songs like “Get Hip”, ‘You Don't Know Me”, and “ZZZZZ”, audiences will be hard-pressed to sit still when the 13 piece orchestra fires up!
